Senior Director, Corporate Programs
Ms. Giorgio is a health care professional with an extensive background in management of health care review, internal quality control and training. In her capacity as the Senior Director for Corporate Programs, Ms. Giorgio oversees Independent Appeals Review Programs, Ambulatory Medical Record Review, Worker's Compensation Dispute Resolution Reviews, cost containment services, special projects and marketing of private review products.
Through Ms. Giorgio's efforts, IPRO was granted accreditation by URAC/American Accreditation Health Care Commission to conduct external, independent reviews of managed care coverage disputes.
Ms. Giorgio is a founding member of the National Association of Independent Review Organizations (NAIRO). NAIRO is dedicated to protecting the integrity of the independent medical review process. NAIRO represents the majority of URAC-accredited Independent Review Organizations (IROs). Utilizing the expertise of hundreds of board-certified clinicians throughout the country, its members embrace an evidence-based medical case review approach to resolve coverage disputes between enrollees and their health plans.
A certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Ms. Giorgio also has ten years of clinical nursing experience in hospital and home-care settings. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Health Administration and her Certificate for Legal Nurse Consultant from Hofstra University. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the Boston College School of Nursing.
