With corporate headquarters in Lake Success, New York, IPRO also maintains a regional office in New York's capital city, Albany. IPRO's staff includes more than 350 physicians, registered nurses, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, data analysts, health policy experts, medical record personnel, programmers, systems analysts and marketing and communications professionals. URAC-accredited since 2000, IPRO is certified to conduct independent external review of appeals in 17 states and the District of Columbia. Additionally, IPRO is also licensed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to conduct HEDIS Compliance Audits.
In New York State, IPRO serves as the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization and as the Medicaid Utilization Review/Quality Assurance Agent. IPRO also serves as the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network Organization of New York State, and administers the state's AIDS Intervention Management System (AIMS), External Quality Review, Resident Work Hour Compliance Monitoring and Early Intervention Monitoring programs, among others. Additionally, IPRO conducts health care quality review activity in more than twenty other states.
- IPRO's quality management system has been certified as compliant with ISO 9001:2000, an international standard for business-to-business dealings, since 2003. This certification ensures that IPRO's services consistently meet or exceed the highest standards of business practice.
- In 2007, IPRO was recognized with Silver Certification from Empire State Advantage, Inc., under its Framework for Excellence program - the only training, mentoring and award program in New York State that bases its assessments on the pre-eminent Malcolm Baldrige National Award criteria.
- IPRO is liccensed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to conduct HEDIS® Compliance Audits™.
- IPRO is accredited by American Accreditation HealthCare Commission/URAC to serve as an Independent Review Organization.
