Senior Director, Early Intervention Program

As the Senior Director of IPRO's Early Intervention Program, Ms. Clarke has oversight responsibility for all aspects of the New York State Department of Health's statewide Early Intervention monitoring contract including planning, implementation, data collection, analysis and reporting. Ms. Clarke has extensive expertise in assessment and intervention for young children with disabilities.

Prior to joining IPRO, Ms. Clarke was a director of programs for children with disabilities, and a professor in the Master of Science program at Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. She has participated as a member of the Partners for Inclusion Task Force, Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council, Early Childhood Coordinating Council, Suffolk County Advisory Task Force, and the Suffolk County Resource and Guidelines Committee, in addition to serving as a board member for International Community-Based Rehabilitation, Inc.

Ms. Clarke gives presentations and provides training on subjects such as parenting a child with developmental disabilities; clinical practice guidelines for Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorders; screening, referral, and assessment, as well as curriculum and intervention for children with special needs; and administration of health/educational programs.

Ms. Clarke has authored/co-authored several publications on the subject of childhood developmental disorders. In 1999, Ms. Clarke was a contributing panel member for "Clinical Practice Guidelines: Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorders," sponsored by the New York State Department of Health's Early Intervention Program. In addition, she co-authored a book: "Partners for Inclusion - A Replication Guide for Supporting Inclusionary Programs for Infants and Toddlers with Special Needs." She also wrote, edited, and served as executive producer of a video production entitled "Mainstreaming."

Ms. Clarke received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lycoming College and her Master of Science in Education from Hofstra University.
