Anthony Shih Anthony Shih, M.D., M.P.H.

Chief Quality Officer & Vice President Strategic Planning

Dr. Shih serves as IPRO's Chief Quality Officer and Vice president of Strategic Planning. In this role, he is responsible for improving corporate operations, as well as leading efforts to guide the strategic growth of the company.

Prior to returning to IPRO, Dr. Shih worked for the Commonwealth Fund, a national foundation committed to improving the U.S. healthcare system, where he directed the foundation's largest grant-making program, the Program on Quality Improvement and Efficiency. Dr. Shih also provided policy analytic support to the Commonwealth Fund's Commission on a High Performance Health System, where he co-authored several of the Commission's key policy reports, including Bending the Curve: Options for Achieving Savings and Improving Value in U.S. Health Spending, and Organizing the U.S. Healthcare Delivery System for High Performance.

During Dr. Shih's first employment with IPRO, Dr. Shih held a variety of positions from 2001 to 2006, including vice president of health care quality improvement, and medical director of managed care. Previously, Dr. Shih was the assistant medical director for a community-based mental health clinic in Northern California serving immigrant and refugee populations.

Dr. Shih is board-certified in public health and preventive medicine, and holds a B.A. in economics from Amherst College, an M.D. from New York University School of Medicine, and an M.P.H. from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
