Program Review Associate - Field

This individual performs hospital utilization and quality reviews and must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Responsibilities include reviewing medical records for medical necessity, appropriateness, quality of care and DRG validation. Training in UR/QA is provided for candidates with med/surg and or critical care experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Ability to relate effectively to medical and administrative personnel as well as the "public".
Ability to travel to hospital/facility on-site review assignments.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or graduate of an approved Registered Professional Nurse training program and licensed to practice in the State of New York.
A minimum of two years experience in an acute care facility, preferably in medicine/surgery or special care units; and/or two years experience in acute care utilization review
